Performances of Alleluia I Heard a Voice

Following its publication in the first Multitude of Voyces anthology, Janet’s piece Alleluia, I Heard a Voice has been receiving numerous performances by many choirs throughout the UK, and further afield. This August, the Rodolfus Choral Course also chose the piece for its summer programme and performed it as an introit at King’s Chapel, Cambridge and Ely Cathedral.

Singing in a Choir – Janet’s lockdown song

Janet’s online rehearsals during lockdown have been enthusiastically received by singers in her choirs. Of course these rehearsals bring inevitable frustrations for singers and conductors. Imagine it! with O Duo on hold

Janet’s Imagine it! (originally written for NYCGB and O Duo) was part of a Saffron Walden Choral Society programme booked for Saffron Hall in July. It should have shared the programme with Orff’s Carmina Burana and Jonathan Dove’s Arion and the Dolphin, all of which is now on hold.

SONORO and GRANTA CHORALE – postponed

A programme in the SONORO series Choral inspirations was to include Janet’s Beati Quorum Via (Homage to Stanford) as well as Sarah Cattley’s Sicut Cervus. Janet and her chamber choir Granta Chorale were due to share the Saffron Hall platform with Neil Ferris and professional chamber choir SONORO in March. Sadly the event fell victim to the pandemic but all hope to pick up the project again when possible.

Voyage We to Islands

The Tealby Watson family (already regular patrons through their commissions for Time Becomes A Song and Gather the Good Days) commissioned new choral pieces from Janet for a family celebration on the island of Arran in summer 2019.
